The maternity programme is specifically designed to actively empower and provide knowledge for a safe and healthy pregnancy and delivery. It provides essential tools to ensure that you receive the best possible care.

Being pregnant should be a very special time - a time during which you want easy access to expert advice and no worries about medical bills. The Maternity Programme is specifically designed to put the power in your hands, giving you access to support, education and advice from experts, through all stages of your pregnancy, confinement and even after the baby is born. Participation is free and offers many benefits.

Fund Benefits

As part of the programme, you will be assigned a care coach who will help you understand the benefits available from the Fund during your pregnancy and after the birth of your baby.

warning If you join the maternity programme before you are 16 weeks pregnant, you will receive the following benefits:

  • Access to advice, information and ongoing education
  • Advice on amount of days of hospitalisation that will be covered
  • Referral to a private midwife
  • Antenatal care from your day-to-day benefit
  • Monitoring of your hospital account, preventing overcharging
  • Case Manager to support you and your baby until your post-natal check-up
  • Delivery of baby by private midwife (or specialist on referral) in a private network hospital, unless it's a high risk pregnancy
  • If the patient wishes to terminate her pregnancy, this procedure must be performed at Marie Stopes' Clinics; and multiple pregnancies are covered only in provincial hospitals or other facilities authorised by MMI Health.

Whether it's your first or fifth time, having a baby should be a wonderful journey for mom, dad and the whole family. The Fund has implemented a Maternity Programme to assist and guide you on this remarkable journey.

Maternity Programme Form

It's important to register on the programme as soon as your doctor has confirmed your pregnancy. Consult the Fund's benefit guide, the website or contact the client service team for guidance. Your care coach will assist you with the registration process. Please complete the enrolment form and return it to us.

First trimester (weeks 0 to 12)

You are now in the first trimester of your pregnancy. So much happens during these first three months.

Second trimester (weeks 13 to 28)

You are now in the second trimester of your pregnancy. For most women, these middle three months are uneventful and passes very quickly.

Third trimester (weeks 29 to 40)

You are now in the third trimester of pregnancy. It won't be long before you'll be holding your little bundle of joy.

Fourth trimester (weeks 1 to 8 after delivery)

The fourth trimester is not part of your pregnancy, but is so called to refer to the first eight weeks after delivery of your baby. We trust that you and your baby/ies are in good health.
